Craig R. Carter

Craig Carter is engaged in commercial real estate practise with an emphasis on easement law, mortgage law, mortgage remedies, and opinions on solicitor’s practise. He received his BSc in 1974 and his LLB in 1977 from the University of Toronto. In 1986, Craig received his LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School. Currently, he is a counsel with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP.

Craig has chaired the LSUC Six Minute Real Estate Lawyer, the OBA Continuing Legal Education Committee, the OBA Real Property Section, and the CBA Real Property Section. He has spoken at numerous OBA and LSUC programs, is the co-editor of Agreements of Purchase and Sale, and is a contributor to the CCH Real Estate Guide.

Currently an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and the University of Toronto Law School teaching Real Estate Transactions and Real Estate Finance, Craig has extensive teaching experience. He has also taught at Ryerson, and is a former adjunct professor at Queens Law School.

Recognized by L’Expert as an expert in property development, Craig is a certified specialist in real estate law and has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest AV rating. He has also received several awards for his work, including the OBA Distinguished Service Award (2017), the Award for Excellence in Real Estate (2002), and The Law Society Medal (2015).
