Allan S. Manson

Allan Manson is Emeritus Professor, Faculty of Law, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada and is currently a Keeley Visiting Fellow at Wadham College, Oxford. Prior to joining the Faculty at Queen’s in 1977, he was a practising criminal lawyer in Toronto, Canada. From 1990-1994, he served as the Project Director for the Ontario Law Reform Commission study of the coroners’ system. In 1994-1995, he was a Deputy Judge of the Yukon Territorial Court. From 2005-2008, he worked with the firm of Wardle, Daley as co-counsel to a party with standing at the Cornwall Public Inquiry.

Along with numerous articles and book chapters on criminal law topics—especially sentencing, imprisonment and evidence—he has written or co-edited a number of books: Sentencing and Penal Policy in Canada, 3rd Ed.
