Aris Daghighian
Aris Daghighian is legal counsel with the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). Previously, he was a senior lawyer for the leading firms of Green and Spiegel LLP in Toronto and Edelmann & Company in Vancouver, where his practice focused on appeals and litigation, as well as economic immigration applications, refugee claims, and issues surrounding citizenship.
During this time, Aris regularly appeared before all divisions of the IRB and federal courts. He has been counsel in a number of seminal decisions before the Supreme Court of Canada and Federal Court of Appeal, including Tran v Canada (Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness), Febles v Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), Brown v Canada (Citizenship and Immigration), and Hassouna v Canada (Citizenship and Immigration).
In addition to his regular practice, Aris is an adjunct professor with Queen’s University.
