Gail Anderson

Gail S. Anderson, BSc Hons (University of Manchester), MPM, PhD (Simon Fraser University), is a professor and associate director at Simon Fraser University's School of Criminology, co-director of the Centre for Forensic Research and a Board Certified Forensic Entomologist. She has been actively involved in case analyses in homicide, wildlife, and SPCA cases since 1988. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and the Canadian Society of Forensic Science, as well as a member of the Canadian Identification Society and the International Association for Identification. Her recognitions include the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Pathology and Biology Section Award for Achievement in the Life Sciences, the Derome Award, a Burnaby Mountain Endowed Professorship, and a YWCA Woman of Distinction Award. Gail was also listed as one of Canada's Top 40 under 40, and one of the Top Five Global Innovators in the Criminal Justice Field by Time magazine and one of the Six Most Influential Scientists in BC by the Vancouver Sun.
