Gail McKay
Gail McKay is presently an assistant professor at Thompson Rivers University, where she teaches Employment Law, Hospitality Law, and Commercial Law. Prior to teaching, she practiced law in Yellowknife, NWT and Kamloops, BC.Initially a student of literature, Gail turned the focus of her study to law after one of her professors at UBC was murdered. Now, Gail’s publications span both disciplines. Her most recent work has been in the areas of employment and commercial law, although her creative endeavours (most recently, two short stories) continue to win writing awards. This brief and sadly ironic quotation, by Swiss novelist and playwright Max Frisch, is her current favourite employment law-related comment: “We asked for workers. We got people instead.”
