Jesse Beatson

Jesse Beatson was called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and holds degrees from Osgoode Hall Law School ( JD), McGill University (MSc), and the University of Toronto (BSc). He was a judicial law clerk at the Federal Court and legal counsel at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Jesse is currently a research lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. As a law student, Jesse summered at the Duty Counsel office of the Durham Region Courthouse and spent invaluable semesters at the immigration division of Parkdale Community Legal Services and at WeirFoulds LLP to assist on a complex Charter litigation file.

Recently, Jesse worked as a consultant lawyer for Ontario’s Long-Term Care COVID-19 Commission and for the Law Commission of Ontario. Jesse has published articles in Canadian law journals and other academic publications. He has presented his work at several venues, including Oxford University, the University of Victoria, Osgoode Hall Law School, and the University of Winnipeg.

In 2018, Jesse published an article on AI and administrative law that is now widely referenced in the field. He received the JSD Tory Writing Award and the Council of Canadian Administrative Tribunals student essay award for this article.
