Joost Blom

Joost Blom QC (B.A. and LL.B. UBC; B.C.L. Oxford; LL.M. Harvard) is a professor at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC, where he was Dean from 1997 to 2003. He has taught and written in the areas of contracts, torts, private international law, and intellectual property. His annual survey of Canadian private international law has appeared in the Canadian Yearbook of International Law since 1980 and he has written numerous other articles and comments on the subject. He is co-author of Economic Interests in Canadian Tort Law (2009), a membre titulaire of the International Academy of Comparative Law, and a Life Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia.
