Michael Lacy

Michael Lacy, BA, LLB, is an experienced trial and appellate counsel who practises primarily in the area of criminal defence. He regularly appears as counsel before the Ontario Court of Appeal and has argued cases for parties and interveners at the Supreme Court of Canada. He is a former president of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association and continues to serve on their intervention committee. He acts pro bono as duty counsel for the Ontario Pro Bono Inmate Appeal Program and volunteers as a mock judge for the Supreme Court Advocacy Institute. He has co-authored other books and regularly speaks at continuing legal education seminars in the area of criminal law.
