Mike Winacott
Mike Winacott began his policing career in 1998 as a police constable with the Elliot Lake Police Service, after which he joined the Durham Regional Police Service and performed various duties, including uniform patrol and recruiting officer. In 2006, he joined the faculty at Georgian College as a part-time professor and in 2008 started teaching full time in the Police Foundations program and the honours Bachelor of Police Studies degree program. Mike has been a coordinator for over 12 years in several of the Community Justice programs, including the Bachelor of Police Studies degree. Mike is a graduate of Sault College’s Emergency Service Preparation program, and has a bachelor of arts degree in law from Carleton University, and a master of arts degree in criminology and criminal justice from Griffith University.
