Ruth Sullivan

Ruth Sullivan has taught law at the University of Ottawa since 1984. During many of those years she was closely associated with the Legislative Drafting Program. She also spent a number of years in the Legislative Services Branch of the Department of Justice drafting legislation and writing opinions. This experience served her well in putting together the later editions of The Construction of Statutes, which went from Driedger on the Construction of Statutes (3rd ed.) to Sullivan on the Construction of Statutes (5th ed.), a text that is widely relied on in the profession.
